Mrs. Doris Parker Brooks, 90, of 115 Salem Street, Thomasville, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026 at the Henry Etta & Bruce Hinkle Hospice House. She was born on December 13, 1935 in Wilkes County, NC to Ella Elizabeth Parker McCorkle. She worked in the furniture industry at Henry Link Furniture and later with Lexington Home Brands. She was preceded in death by her mother and most recently by her son-in-law, Kenneth Wayne Gallimore.
Surviving is her daughter, Diane Black Gallimore of Thomasville; her sons, Kenneth Black and wife Denise of Welcome and Randy Black of Thomasville; grandchildren, Angie Gallimore Bateman and husband Dwayne and Joey Black and wife Nicki; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Lexington City Cemetery. No formal visitation will be held. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to everyone at Hospice of Davidson County and memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
