Dorothy "Dot" Ray (Fouts) Finney

Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Fouts Finney, 90, of Thomasville passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025 at Atrium Health High Point Medical Center. Dot was born April 28, 1935 in Davidson County to the late Grant Lee Fouts and Martha Ella Lambeth Fouts. She attended Charity Baptist Church, which she loved dearly.  Dot worked many years in the furniture industry and retired from Thomasville Furniture. Dot always enjoyed doing word searches, tending to her cats and dogs; but most of all spending time with her family.  Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Allen Finney on February 11, 2023; two sisters, Mary Alice Hughes and Pauline Shore; one brother, Richard Fouts.

Surviving are her two daughters, Jane Payne, Shirley Lang and husband Joe; one sister, Nancy Carter; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville with Rev. Elton Wilborne officiating. Family will receive friends following the graveside service at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be sent to Davidson County Animal Shelter, 490 Glendale Road Lexington, NC 27292.
