Edward Roger Norris, Jr.

Edward Roger Norris, Jr. passed away at home on April 3, 2025.  He was born to Edward Roger Norris and Juanita Bigby Norris on October 16, 1949 in Salisbury, N.C.

Roger was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Nedra Martin Norris; son, William Brian Norris of Kernersville; daughter-in-law Elizabeth of Lexington; brother, Tim Norris (Leigh Ann); grandchildren, Lydia Cheryl and Lauren Elizabeth; niece, Mary Scott Patch (Michael); and nephews, Christian Banks Norris (Alexis), Ross Coppley, Neil Coppley; grand-nephew, Banks Alexander Norris; and his faithful canine companion, Chuck Norris. In addition, Roger was blessed with many cousins and in-laws whom he loved dearly.

Roger is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Wanda Jolene; wife, Cheryl Burkhart Norris, and infant son, Christopher Brent Norris.

Roger retired from the Kimberly Clark Corporation. He was a talented athlete with a passion for golf. Roger had a charismatic ability to entertain through storytelling.  He never met a stranger and befriended everyone he met. Roger was a member and deacon of Wallburg Baptist Church. He also openly shared his Christian faith and witness.

The family will greet friends and relatives at Wallburg Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Brandon Wolfe.  A graveside service will be held following the memorial service at Mount Tabor United Church of Christ, Lexington, N.C.
