Edward William Parks, Jr.

Mr. Edward William Parks, Jr., a resident of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026.

Edward was born February 13, 1952 in Forsyth County, NC a son of the late Edward William Parks, Sr. and the late Loretta Grey Hester Montgomery. Known as the “bread man” he worked from 1974 until 2012 as a route salesman for Merita Bread Company. Edward was a fan of NASCAR, enjoyed fishing, especially surf fishing. He liked to make people laugh, loved to entertain family and friends with his cooking and grilling skills. He met once a month with his buddies playing cards. Since 1974 Edward was proud to call Wallburg his home. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife his Pamela Sue Gibbons and sister Patricia Diane Gray.

Surviving is his son Edward William Parks, III of Wallburg, NC; daughter Angela Renee Parks Phillips of Wallburg, NC; his step-son Jenrette Elize Bass, IV (Candace) of Winston-Salem, NC; his sister Jackie Montgomery of Charlotte, NC; his step-sisters Vickie Long (Michael) of Clemmons, NC, Connie Beauchamp (Wade) of Lewisville, NC, Margaret Lawson of Winston-Salem, NC. Also surviving are his four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Winston-Salem (Wallburg Community) 10301 N. NC Highway 109, Winston-Salem, NC 27107. The family will greet friends on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Entombment at Parklawn Memorial Gardens will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 243 North Lee Street, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
