Psalm 121:1-2: I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.” It was the evening of ‘Christmas’ day when the angel of the Lord reached out its everlasting arms and said, “Come unto me and rest.”
On this most holy day, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, was summoned home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Elizabeth Dean Hayworth Hine, 85, entered the presence of her Eternal Father Jesus Christ on December 25, 2025. She departed from her earthly home in Davidson County surrounded by those she loved most. Mrs. Hine was born on November 21, 1940, to Levi Grady Hayworth and Jessie Lois Pyrtle Hayworth. She was a 1959 graduate of Ledford Senior High School. On July 12, 1959, she married the love of her life Eli John Hine, a lasting marriage of 66 years. A key to a successful marriage she would say was having God at the center. Mrs. Hine worked a variety of jobs in her early marriage and opted to take the most important role of staying at home and raising a family as her calling in life.
Elizabeth cared deeply about her family and daily showed her love through her actions. Her generosity was genuine, and her support was invaluable. Her faith in the Lord started at a young age inspiring others and her strong faith carried her to be with her Lord Savior in the end. Elizabeth was a wise, caring woman who will forever be in our hearts. She was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church for over sixty years had a servant’s heart with a focus on caring for others. She was known for her deep faith serving as a prayer warrior and encourager to many.
Elizabeth enjoyed participating in events and activities that the family was involved in. Additional pastimes included gardening and blue bird watching. Her church family was an extension of herself, and she remained engaged when mobility became a challenge. She ministered from the home with cards and phone calls.
She is preceded in death by her parents. Surviving is her husband, Eli Hine; two children Angela Cranfill (Vic) and Stephanie Woosley (Darrell); two grandchildren Joseph Cranfill and Faith Woosley; one brother Roger Hayworth (Elizabeth); and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at 2:00 pm at New Friendship Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Byrne officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
