Elizabeth "Liz" Ann (Smith) Jarrett

Elizabeth “Liz” Ann Smith Jarrett, 78, of Thomasville, passed away August 29, 2023, at Piedmont Crossing in Thomasville. 

Liz was born October 2, 1944 in Guilford County, to the late William James Smith and Rilla Norwood Smith.  She was a faithful member and attended New Heights Baptist Church in Trinity until she became unable to.  She was a former member of Hillside Park Baptist Church, where she served as church secretary.  Liz loved the Lord, was very faithful to her church and shared the Lord with others. She worked at American Ornamental Products for many years.  Liz enjoyed taking care of the ones she loved and she will be missed by everyone who knew her. 

In addition to her parents, Liz is preceded in death by her husband, Reverend David L. Jarrett; a special companion and friend, Rev. Bob Burns.

Liz is survived by a sister, Rachel Duty of Denton; a brother, Bobby Smith of Winston-Salem; two nieces, Beverly Heitman and husband Monte of Thomasville and Sheila Dennis and husband Billy of Kernersville; a nephew, James Smith of Winston-Salem; a great niece, Monica Parsons and husband Matthew of Lexington; a special great-great niece, Ryah Parsons; along with many other extended family members.  The family would like to thank all the staff of Piedmont Crossing and Hospice of Davidson County for all the care, love and attention given to our “Lizzie, Liz, Miss Liz”.

A funeral service will be held Friday, September 1, 2023 at 2:00 PM at New Heights Baptist Church 5082 Meadowbrook Drive, Trinity, NC, with Rev. Roger Porter officiating.  The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 PM at the church.  Burial will follow the service at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.  Online condolences may be directed to www.jcgreenandsons.com.
