Emily Robbins Obituary

Mrs. Emily Sue Barnes Robbins, 81 a resident of Denton, passed away on Friday May 12, 2023.  She was born June 5, 1941 in Davidson County, to the late Amos Elijah Barnes and Clarcey Payne Barnes.  Emily worked as a CNA in the home health care industry for many years.  She was a member of Bright Light Freewill Baptist Church.  Emily loved fishing at the beach, especially in the surf at Carolina and Kure beaches.  She also loved cooking and flowers. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a twin sister, Amy Lou Barnes; a son, Ricky Davis Robbins; three brothers, David Barnes, Tommy Wayne Barnes, Joe Barnes; three grandchildren, Ricky Jason Robbins, Cassey Dawn Robbins, Brittany Nicole Robbins.   

Left to cherish Emily’s memory is her husband of 65 years, Paul Davis Robbins of the home; a son, Danny Thomas Robbins of Denton; three daughters, Tammy Sue Small of Denton, Deborah Robbins of Denton, Wanda Doty and husband Allen of Walkertown; a sister, Carol Eller of Lexington; eleven grandchildren, Christy Nally and  husband James, Samantha Ash,  Don Kinley, Amy Wolf, Candace Robbins, Carson Robbins and wife Ryan, Tiffany Contreras and husband Frank, David Allen Doty, Ricky Lee Doty, Jessica Robins and husband Will, Leora King; seven great grandchildren, Jonathan Tucker, Ryan Tucker, Stevie Craver, Dakota Ash, Amber Ash, Hannah Harrison, and Don Odell Kinley, III; eleven, great-great grandchildren, Nataleigh Tucker, Jaxon Tucker, Madelyn Byrd, Madisyn Nilsen, George Nilsen, Allisyn Decamp, Rayne Doty, Lailey Robins, Dylan Contreras, Lawson Ash, Lilly King. 

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 2:00 PM, at the JC Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville, with Rev. Henry King officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.jcgreenandsons.com.
