Mrs. Emma Jean Luther Albright, 81 a resident of Thomasville went home to be with her Lord on June 5, 2020 at WFBH-High Point Medical Center. She was born in Davidson County on August 17, 1938 a daughter to the late Hoyt Kiles Luther and Callie Lee Harville Luther. Emma grew up in the Baptist faith but enjoyed attending services at Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church. She was in the banking industry for over forty years retiring from the Bank of North Carolina, where she was very influential in its founding. Emma was an avid gardener and enthusiastic sportsman, having killed many trophy bucks. She will be fondly remembered as a loving matriarch of a large family and her involvement in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including spending frequent time with them and attending their sporting events. In addition to her parents, Emma was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Joe Albright in 2009 and a brother, Harold Dean Luther.
She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl A. Ivey and husband Mark of Thomasville; son, Joey Albright and wife Cheryl of Kernersville; grandchildren, Josh Ivey and wife Kelly, Emily DiMaio and husband Chris and Austin Albright; great-grandchildren, Avery, Badin, Brecken and Oliver. She also leaves behind many beloved friends and extended family members.
A graveside service will be held on Monday June 8, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Holly Hill Memorial Park officiated by Dr. E Keith Carroll. Mrs. Albright will lie in state at J C Green and Sons Funeral Home on Sunday for those who would like to pay their respects. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in Mrs. Albright’s memory to Mt.
