Ernie Eunice Babson Smith

Mrs. Ernie “Eunice” Babson Smith, 90, of Thomasville, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at the Hospice Home at High Point.  She was born on December 29, 1934 in Brunswick County, NC to Erdon Babson and Delta Inman Babson.  She retired from Brookdale Furniture and was of the Baptist faith.  She loved to dance, plant flowers, listening to Blue Grass Gospel Music, and cooking.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Smith on February 13, 2015; her son, Donnie Robert Smith; and several sisters and brothers.

Surviving is her daughter, Delois Turner and husband Roy of Thomasville; her son, Dale Smith and wife Carolyn of Thomasville; her sister, Nina Stanley of Bolivia, NC; three grandchildren, Roy Turner and wife Paula of Thomasville, Kevin Turner and wife Christie of Southmont, and Erica Kimsey and husband Chris of Lexington; nine great-grandchildren; and fourteen great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville.  Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will greet friends on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM.
