Eva Riddle Jackson, of Star, NC died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday June 20, 2026, at her home. She was 84.
Born March 7, 1942, in Montgomery County to the late Frank and Rosa Luther Riddle. She graduated from Biscoe High School and married shortly after, a marriage that blessed her with 4 children. She was a lifetime member of Main Street Baptist Church and served many roles including treasurer, helping in the kitchen, and most of all celebrating her faith and trust in God, which led all her children to Jesus. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 sisters.
Eva spent nearly her entire career at Springs Industries, attending college at night to earn a bachelor’s degree in business from Gardner-Webb University. She finished he r career in Elijay, GA as Human Resource Manager. She lived a full life as a daughter, mother and wife. She was actively involved in her church and her grandchildren’s life of sports, dancing and anything; Nana was there. Since 1981 she was a very active member of the International Women’s Club, having served in many leadership roles, from President to Treasurer, and always a supportive club member. It also allowed her to travel to many places in the world, many times carrying her daughters to continue that leadership and motherly love at the same time. Eva was active at the Star Historical Society and served many roles. She loved quilting and a lifelong love of reading and the Braves baseball team, falling asleep one last time watching them.
Our mother is the foundation of our lives, and we believe in many others’ lives. The world is less today without her.
