Mrs. Eva Smith Eddinger, 99, a resident of Thomasville, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at her home. She was born on March 27, 1922 in Guilford County to the late John Oliver Edwards and Mittie Ridge Edwards. She was a homemaker most of her life and she enjoyed working with her flowers. Eva was always considered a hard worker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Julian Smith; her second husband, Rayvon Eddinger; three children, Susan Craven, John Smith, and Charlie Smith; and numerous other family members.
Surviving are her four daughters, Hazel Huddleston of Colorado, Margaret Gallimore of Thomasville, Teresa Thomas and husband Excel of Thomasville, and Julie Smith of Thomasville; two sons, Tony Smith and wife Roxanne of Virginia, and Walter Smith and wife Janice of Thomasville; twenty grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren; sixteen great-great-grandchildren; and many other extended family members.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the JC Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville with Pastor Bo Coleman and Pastor Fredie Meadows officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 till 11:00AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
