Evelyn Brown Williard, 96, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, at the Davidson Rehab and SNF in Lexington, North Carolina. Born on November 14, 1928, Evelyn was the only child of the late Edward and Hassie Brown.
Evelyn grew up on a dairy and tobacco farm owned by her parents in Leicester, NC. She attended Cullowhee Teachers College. Evelyn moved to Winston-Salem, NC, in the mid 1950s and met her future husband, Quentin Williard. They married in 1956, and had one child, Nancy. She worked in both retail business and furniture manufacturing, retiring from Thomasville Furniture Industries in 1993. After retiring, Evelyn enjoyed traveling occasionally, meetings with the Wallburg Homemakers Club, delivering Meals on Wheels in Davidson County, and shopping.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Harvey; two grandsons, Jason (Angela) and Daniel (Annette); and five great grandchildren, Carsen, Crew, Owen, Emilio and Anabella.
She was predeceased by her husband, Quentin; son-in-law, Chuck; and two great grandchildren, Austin and Finnley.
A viewing will be held on September 24 2025, from 4 to 6pm at J C Green & Sons Funeral Home in Winston-Salem, NC. Funeral services will be at Shady Grove Global Methodist Church, 167 Shady Grove Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC, on September 25, 2025 at 11am.
