Evelyn Chandler Reece Obituary

Evelyn Chandler Reece entered her Heavenly home on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Billy Ray Reece, her parents, Jesse Chandler and Pauline Smith Mauldin, her sister, Barbara Chandler Alea, and her two sons, Michael Ray Reece and Robert Dean Reece. She is survived by her three children: Dreama Reece Ujevich, Brian Reece and wife Roxanne, and Randall Reece, and four granddaughters: Brianna Nicole Reece, Kathryn Brooke Ujevich, Erin Elizabeth Reece, and Emily Grace Ujevich.

Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She found joy in a life centered on love and service. She deeply enjoyed helping others and was happiest when cooking meals to share. Music filled her home and her heart, especially Christian songs, and she treasured singing alongside her late husband, Bill. She delighted in simple pleasures like trips to the beach, but above all else, she loved her friends and family, holding them close and making each feel valued and cherished. She especially loved the Christmas season, making the holiday special for everyone around her.

At the age of 40, she began her nursing education, pursuing a calling to care for others. Her career included work in the operating room, private duty nursing, and hospice care, followed by serving as administrator of a home health agency. She also served nurse duties in Togo West Africa while on mission trips. In her later years, she shared her experience and passion by teaching nursing skills at Davidson Community College, leaving a lasting impact on future generations of caregivers.

At the age of 69, she attended Rhema Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and graduated from a class of about 4,000. Evelyn was an active member of her church, Faith, Healing, and Worship Center in Sophia, North Carolina.

Evelyn loved the Lord diligently and will now spend eternity with Him.
