Mrs. Faye Burgess Craver, age 80, of the Wallburg Community passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 31, 2025 while at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born on November 6, 1944 in Forsyth County to the late Walter C. and Helen K. Burgess. Faye was a life-long member of Mt. Carmel Methodist Church. She retired from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System after 31 years where she worked as an assistant librarian at various schools. Faye had served as assistant softball coach at Parkland High School. Her time was spent traveling and supporting her family in their various hobbies. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Donald Nelson Craver who passed away in April, 2022; and brother, Fredrick E. Burgess.
Surviving family includes her loving son, Dwayne Craver and wife Kim of Winston-Salem; granddaughter, Khristy Payne and husband Bryce; three great-grandchildren, Kamden, Adleigh, and Mallory Payne; many nieces and nephews; and extended family and special friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at Mt. Carmel Global Methodist Church with Pastors, Mary Miller and Andy Craver officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM at the church, 4265 Ebert Street, Winston-Salem, NC.
