Frances Varner Obituary

Frances Joann Walser Varner, 87, of Lexington passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born August 13, 1933 to the late Wiley C. Walser and Bertie Painter Walser in Davidson County. Frances was a member of Pilgrim Reformed Church in Lexington. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Lawrence “Bill” Ray Varner, Sr.; her son, Richard Varner; infant daughter; eight siblings, Gladys Leonard, Mable Liner, John Walser, Mary Lou Freedle, Ray Walser, Roy Walser, Marshall Walser, Eva Mae McLemore.

Surviving are two children, Dianne Sink and husband John, Lawrence Varner, Jr. all of Lexington; two sisters, Jenell Lankford and husband Doug of Lexington, Judie Bailey of King; three grandchildren, Jason Varner, Jamie Varner and London Sink; four great-grandchildren, Lauren, Ivy, Kendall and Jackson; numerous nieces and nephews.
