Mr. Gary Randolph Kendrick, 77, of Trinity, passed away peacefully early Tuesday, April 7, 2026 High Point Hospital. Gary was born March 5, 1949 in Martinsville, VA to the late Raymond Glover Kendrick and Lois Gammons Kendrick. Gary was of the Baptist faith and worked many years hauling lumber before he retired. On April 6, 1989, Gary married Cheryl Stanley Kendrick and they enjoyed 38 years as husband and wife before his passing. Gary lived life to the fullest and loved to scratch off lottery tickets, play pool, work on his cars, mow the yard and watch NASCAR races, while cheering on his favorite driver Chase Elliott. But most of all his greatest joy in life was spending time with his kids, grandkids and great-grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Crystal Dawn Mitchem; a brother, Raymond “Junior” Kendrick; three sisters, Juanita Beal, Betty Wingfield, and Janet Jones.
Surviving is his loving wife, Cheryl Kendrick of the home; two daughters, Cindy Kendrick of Stuart, VA and Shannon Arthurs (Paxton) of Asheboro, NC; three sons, Gary “Randy” Kendrick, Jr of VA, Bobby Owens of Trinity, NC, Scott Owens of SC; a brother, Vernon Kendrick (Hazel) of VA; a sister, Brenda Barnhart of Archdale; nine grandchildren, Krista, Samantha, Bella, Zane, Bailey, Blake, Gavin, Montana, Scott, Jr.; five great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Karaline, Kayden, Allison, Axel; a special niece, Deanna Ritchie; a special neighbor, Audrey Miller, his Chihuahua Rocky, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral service will be held Monday, April 13, 2026 at 2:00 PM at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Amber Brown officiating. Entombment will follow at Floral Garden Mausoleum in High Point, NC. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
