Mr. Gary Lee Anthony Pollock, 67, of Thomasville went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at his residence.
Gary was born January 5, 1954 to the late Joe Pollock and Mae Rais in Scottsdale, AZ. He served his country in the United States Army. Gary learned to cook in the Army and was well known for his food. He was of the Catholic faith and attended Carolina Memorial Baptist Church in Thomasville with his family. He loved working outside, woodworking, watching sports and often attempted to be a back yard machinic. All of Gary’s grandchildren were so special to him.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Vernon Pollock; a grandson, Anthony Anderson.
Surviving is his loving wife, Mary Byrd Pollock of the home; a daughter, Leyna Valentin and husband Jose of MA; two sons, Allen Tucker and wife Karen, Tony Dean all of Thomasville; a sister, Barbara Evans and husband John of AZ; eight grandchildren, Damian, Megan, Tyler, Tyler, Cheyanne, Leann, Ryan, Jaleyra; six great-grandchildren, Joshua, Josiah, Olivia, Bryson, Zander and Chance.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the J.C. Green and Sons Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Tim Landreth officiating. The family will greet friends prior from 1:00 to 1:45 PM at the funeral home. A private family burial will be held at Salisbury National Cemetery at a later date.
