Mr. Gary James (Red) Curry, 74, of Thomasville, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026 at his home, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on June 1, 1952 in Davidson County, Thomasville, NC to James (Jim) Marshall Curry and Colleen Annie Williams Curry. He was a 1970 graduate of Thomasville High School and after graduation joined the US Army National Guard. He retired from North State Telephone Company in High Point after 30+ years of service. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Land of the Giants Hunt Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Doris Amber Jarrett on May 23, 2026.
Surviving is his wife of 26 years, Janice Faye Ward Curry, whom he married on August 14, 1999; his son, James Andrew (Andy) Curry of High Point; his daughters, Jayme Renee Billings and husband Steve of Thomasville and Ashley Ward Barton and husband Steve of Winston-Salem; his grandchildren, Courtney Billings, Bristol Billings, Bryson Curry, Skylar Curry, and Wynn, Alba, and Lola Barton; his aunt, Betty Link and husband Larry; and several cousins.
