Mr. Gary Walter Loflin, 79, of Trinity, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024 at the Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center. He was born on May 30, 1944 in Guilford County, High Point, NC to Glenn Walter Loflin and Geneva Lee Shoe Loflin. He graduated from Ledford High School, where he played football. He was a US Navy veteran having served during the Cuban Missile Crisis and in the Dominican Republic. He was a Mason and son of a Mason and was a member to The Thomasville Masonic Lodge. He was entrepreneur and developer and developed Steeplegate, Brecken Ridge, Bellawood, and Trotters Run to name a few. He loved playing golf at Colonial Country Club, racing drag boats and stock cars, and had a great contagious smile and loved everyone.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Garner Loflin on July 8, 2017; and his son, Walter “Lou” Loflin.
Surviving are his children, Cathy Beasley of Thomasville, Mitzie Loflin of Trinity, and Scott Loflin and wife Rebecca of Tucson, AZ; and his grandchildren, Tyler Loflin, Kyle Loflin, Bryan Loflin, Preston Beasley, Casey Loflin, and Scottie Loflin.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Pastor Michael Mabe officiating. The family will be at the funeral home for a visitation on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
