Mrs. Geneva Brinkley Ripple, 94, of Jacob Street, died Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at her home. She was born on September 20, 1925 in Davidson County, NC to Vaughn Lee Brinkley and Ester Viola Conrad Brinkley. She worked for Thomasville Furniture Industries. She was a life-long member of Greenwood Baptist Church, the Young at Heart, and the WMU. She loved gardening and spending time in her flowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Lyndon Ripple on May 20, 2003, whom she married on February 27, 1943; her sisters, Louise Burton, Mattie Belle Ragan, Mamie Mendenhall, and Dorothy (Dot) Ferguson; and her brothers, Earl, Conrad, John and Jimmy Brinkley.
Surviving is her daughter, Sherry Darr and husband Wayne of Thomasville; son, Randy Ripple and significant other Jeanette Romaniello of Yadkinville; brother, Clifton Brinkley and wife Marion of Thomasville; sisters, Maxine Hudson and Ruby Beasley, both of Thomasville; three grandchildren, Cindy Breedlove and husband Todd, Jason Ripple and significant other Leigh Ann Fansler, and Ben Ripple and wife Alison; great-grandchildren, Kagan and Trevor Breedlove, and Ryan and Emaline Ripple; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for immediate and extended family due to the COVID-19 restrictions will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Greenwood Baptist Church with Rev. Mitchel Hayworth officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Ripple will lie in state on Tuesday from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM at the church for the community and her church family to pay their respects with strict CDC guidelines followed and she will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until taken to the church on Tuesday at 11:00 AM.
