George Vernon Williams

George V. Williams, 86, a resident of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on June 22, 2026. 

‘He was a beloved husband of Joyce Lynn, father of Benjamin, David and devoted man.’

Born in Wilson County, NC, he was the son of late Roy B. and Nettie Mae Williams; brother of the late Charles and Barbara Ann.

George “Bernie” was an engineer employed at RJR for many years until his retirement.

He leaves two sons, two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of many years and his brother and sister.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Life Celebration ceremony on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at 2:00 PM at J.C. Green and Sons Chapel, 10301 N. NC Hwy 109, Winston-Salem, NC 27107.  The family will greet friends from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be private for close family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.
