Mr. George H. Fore, 81, a resident of Thomasville, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023 at the Hinkle Hospice Home in Lexington. He was born on January 14, 1942 in Hendersonville, NC to the late Bessie Ledbetter Fore and William Lee Fore. At the age of 4, George moved to Mills Home in Thomasville where he lived until graduating from Thomasville Senior High. Retiring as a supervisor, George worked 32 years with Duke Power. George was a lifelong member of the East Davidson High School Booster Club and played an important part in the revitalization of the athletic facilities in the 1980’s. When he was able, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and wood working and was a member of Mills Home Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his three sisters, Mae Culler, Martha Jackson, and Bertha Louise Wilkie; and his brother, William E. Fore.
Surviving is his wife of almost 55 years, Dianne Hughes Fore of the home; one daughter, Cindy Leonard (Randy) of Welcome; one son, Tony Fore (Jane) of Thomasville; three grandchildren, Adam Michael Fore, Ashlyn Nicole Fore, and Jonathan Caleb Leonard; and two siblings, Frances Lambeth (Kenneth) of Thomasville, and James Lee Fore of Indiana.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at his favorite time of the day, 10:30 AM at the JC Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville. The family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home.
