Mrs. Georgie May Swing Lewis, 86, of Trinity, passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021 at the High Point Medical Center. She was born on July 13, 1934 in Thomasville to the late C.A. Swing and Annie Viola Henley. Georgie worked many years in the hosiery, furniture, and health care industries and was a long-time member of Thomasville Seventh-day Adventist Church. She loved the Lord, loved her children, and devoted the last years of her life caring for the sick. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Oliver “Clay” Lewis; her three children, John Badger, Joe Badger, and Janice Badger Permar; brother, Leo Swing; and many aunts and uncles.
Surviving are her two children, Pam Jackson (Phillip Osman) of Alabama, and Edward Acosta (Vicki) of the home; five grandchildren, Heather Powell (Brian), Mitzi Weaver (Eli), Scott Acosta, Jessica Acosta, and Courtney Badger; five great-grandchildren, Jake, Amaya, Ramzie, Brooklyn, and Addilyn; great-great-grandson, Jesse Alexander Powell; two sisters, Shirley Robinson and Sue Henry; nieces/nephews, Linda, Cheryl, Marsha, Lisa, and Terry; and special friends, Faye Ligon, Shirley Hamer, and Janice and Terry Reddick.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the JC Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Floral Gardens Cemetery Park in High Point.
