Glenda Lewis Obituary

Glenda “Susie” Gregg Lewis, 73, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 31, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply. She was born July 7, 1952, in Kingsport, Tennessee.

To most, she was simply known as Nana, the heart of her family and the center of countless cherished memories. Nana had a gift for making people feel welcome. She was well known for her Sunday morning biscuits and gravy bringing her loved ones together week after week. Her greatest joys in life were her faith, her family, and the happiness of being surrounded by those she loved most. She also never missed a chance to enjoy racing, a passion that always made her smile. Susie retired from Craft Cleaners after many years of dedicated service.

She leaves behind a family who adored her: her brother Ricky Gregg of Pinnacle; her children, Christy Hoover (Joey) and Brad Lewis (Jamie); a niece, Kayla Long (Chris); her grandchildren Allison Gregg, Kendall Hoover (Shelby), Chase Lewis (Taylor), Emilee Lewis, Kelsey Hoover (Ben), Holly Hooker (Devin), Ryn Lewis, Hope Lewis, honorary grandchild Tori Brown; and her treasured great-grandchildren Cooper Gregg, Sawyer Rose Gregg, Dawson Hoover, Scottlyn Jo Hoover, Kelley Hoover, Zane Lewis, Leah Stewart, Kinley Smith, Silas Smith, Jaxson Smith, and Emmery Smith.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Joan Pell; her brother, Jimmy Gregg; and her son-in-law, Scott Hoover.

Susie was an active and devoted member of Overflow Church, where her faith guided her life and shined through her kindness. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her presence will be missed every day, but the memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 6, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at JC Green & Sons Funeral Home in Wallburg. A celebration of Susie’s life will be held Saturday, February 7th at 2:00 pm at Overflow Church, 8115 Old Lexington Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27107, officiated by Pastor Bryan Hullette.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Roe Roe’s Heroes in Susie’s memory.
