Glenn "Doak" Gallimore Obituary

Mr. Glenn “Doak” Gallimore, 92 of Thomasville passed away Monday, March 16, 2026 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.

Doak was born July 22, 1933 son of the late Seaph Wood Gallimore and Alice Snider Gallimore of Davidson County. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Doak returned home and owned and operated Fairgrove Plumbing for many years. Mr. Gallimore was a founding member and volunteer firefighter for Fairgrove Fire Department. He was a long-time member of Fair Grove Church, The Optimist Club for many years, a fan of the Atlanta Braves, and enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends. Doak most of all loved and cherished his family.

In addition to his parents, Doak was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Nancy Robertson Gallimore; a grandson, Alex Gallimore; six siblings, Aster Gallimore, Rex Gallimore, Oleen Pierce, James Gallimore, Boyd Gallimore, and Hosea Gallimore.

Surviving are three sons, Glenn Gallimore, Thomas Gallimore and wife Cindy all of Thomasville, Todd Gallimore and wife Darla of Lexington; step-children, Tammy Kennedy, Tim Kennedy and wife Jessica, Tracy Krohn, Kyle Surratt and wife Mindy; grandchildren, Madison Gallimore, Mackenzie Gallimore, Derrick Gallimore and wife Elizabeth, Sean Gallimore, Zachery Gallimore and wife Hannah, Morgan Justice and husband Spencer, Katie Lovell and husband Levi, Matthew Kennedy, Hayden Krohn, Myleigh Surratt, and Kylyn Surratt; great-grandchildren, Blakely Gallimore, Navy Gallimore, Laylynn Justice, Jackson Justice; numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 4:00 PM at Fair Grove Church in Thomasville with Rev. Mark Helms officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. No formal viewing or visitation will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of Davidson County online or 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
