Gordon Forss Obituary

Mr. Gordon Eugene Forss, 94, of Thomasville, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 1, 2026, and went to be with his Lord and Savior. Gordon was born on August 23, 1931, in Goodhue County, Minnesota, to the late Fredrik Forss and Marian Robertson Forss. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division. A man of deep faith, Gordon was a devoted member of Encounter Church in High Point, a congregation he dearly loved. He spent many years working as a skilled machinist, retiring from Mac Panel, and previously working for Macon Machine. In his earlier years, he also worked as a milkman. Gordon was a proud patriot who loved his country. In his free time, he enjoyed puzzles and fishing, and he had a remarkable talent for woodworking, especially crafting clocks and jewelry boxes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven sisters and eight brothers.

Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Barbara Earnhardt Forss of the home; his son, Darren E. Forss and wife Michelle of Belews Creek; his daughters, Janet M. Oast of Kernersville, Karen F. Dailey and husband Marty of Thomasville, and Deborah Forss of California; and his brother, Larry Forss of New York. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Pamela Oast, Bradley Oast and wife Brooke, Taylor Holder and husband AJ, Casey Williams and husband Devin, Katie Forss, and Kylie Forss; as well as four great-grandchildren, Emmett Oast, Esme Oast, Mason Hildebrand, and McKinley Hildebrand.
