Gwendolyn Imogene (Garner) Fritts

Gwendolyn (Imogene) Garner Fritts, 90 of Thomasville, NC, passed peacefully on Saturday May 30, 2020 with her sons by her side during a brief period of declining health.

Born August 22, 1929, she is the daughter of the late Jacob Garner and Ethel Connor Garner of Thomasville.  She graduated from High Point Central High School in High Point NC, and was a secretary for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in the WMFR “Radio” Building where she met her husband in the building elevator.  She was passionate about being a wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker; and embraced those titles with an adoring love.  Her family was the most important thing to her after God.

She is survived by her two sons Joel Lee Fritts and wife Kim Carnell Fritts of Willow Spring, NC, and Nathan Ross Fritts and wife Michelle Johnson Fritts of Wake Forest, NC, 4 grandchildren Anna-Martin and Caroline Fritts, and Travis and Nicholas Fritts, two sisters, Loma Clodfelter and husband Harvey Clodfelter, Jacqueline (Jackie) Garner, and one brother Coyte Lee Garner.  She is preceded in death by her husband Roby Lee Fritts to whom she was married for 57 years. 

A private family graveside service will be Thursday, June 4, 2020, 11:00 AM at Pleasant Grove UMC Cemetery with Pastor John Stein officiating. Mrs. Fritts will lie in state at the J. C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 starting at 9:00 AM until the hour of the service on Thursday for the public to pay their respects.
