Harriette Virginia Starnes Staley

Mrs. Harriette Virginia Starnes Staley, 88, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at the home of her son, Jimmy.  She was born on July 16, 1932 in Anson County, NC to William Joseph Starnes and Nezzie Rae Taylor Starnes.  She retired as a case worker for Guilford County Social Services and was a member of Springfield Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar James Staley; brother, Wade Starnes; and sister, Linda Honeycutt.

Surviving is her daughter, Nora Lynn Vestal and husband Randy of Archdale; son, James William (Jimmy) Staley and wife Tina of Thomasville; brother, William Harold Starnes and wife Connie of SC; sister, Willie Lynn Mitchell and husband Joel of Trinity; grandchildren, Mathieu Vestal and wife Meagan, April Staton and husband Chris, Hannah Staley O’Malley and husband John, Caleb Staley and wife Kaitlyn, and Molly Staley Rogers and husband Christian; and great-grandchildren, Salem Staley, Mason Vestal, Maelie Vestal, Joshua Staton, and Ryan Staton.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Springfield Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Loving and Pastor Michael Orman officiating.  Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church from 1:00 – 2:00 PM.  Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  Online condolences may be sent to www.jcgreenandsons.com.
