Hazel Prevo Obituary

Hazel Overcash Prevo, 84, of Lambeth Drive passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at Lexington Health Care.

She was born on June 19, 1935 to the late Willie Lee and Kate Marie Collins Overcash in Davidson County. For 58 years, she owned and operated Citizens Insurance in Thomasville. Hazel was very active in her community, being a member of numerous boards, and member of First Baptist Church in Thomasville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Franklin Prevo in 1979; four siblings, Mollie Embry, Frances “Teenie” Johnson, Herman Lee Overcash, and Clifford Overcash.

Surviving are her life partner of 40 years, Pete Davis of Thomasville; a son, Greg Prevo and wife Cheryl of Thomasville; a sister, Bill Stone of Thomasville; caregiver and loving friend, Sharon Cranford; several adopted grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Due to the guidelines from Gov. Roy Cooper, a private family service will be held. A public memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to First Baptist Church, 8 Cramer Street, Thomasville, NC 27360. Friends are welcome to sign the guest book at the J.C.
