Mrs. Hazel Driggers Grainger, 77, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center. She was born on October 9, 1943 in Marlboro County, McColl, SC to Gordon Driggers and Geneva Butler Driggers. She worked for the Davidson County Sheriff Department and attended The Orchard Church, while her health permitted.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Waldo Grainger on September 28, 1998; and her brothers, Bobby and Fred Driggers.
Surviving is her daughter, Wanda Faye King of Thomasville; sons, Don Diego Grainger and wife Robin of Lexington, Waldo Stewart Grainger and wife Loretta of Lexington, Hank Jeffrey Grainger and wife Mary of Lexington and Jimmy Tolbert Wayne Grainger and wife Lana of Thomasville; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; half-brother, Billy Ray Hatcher; and half-sister, Jerrie Jordan.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Pastor Jimmy Grainger officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
