Herbert "H.L." Jones

Mr. Herbert L. “H.L.” Jones, 79, a resident of Thomasville, passed away at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington, with his family by his side.  He was born on March 2, 1946, in Marion County, SC to the late Herbert and Magaline Ray Jones.  H.L. was of the Baptist faith and worked in maintenance at several furniture factories over the years.  He loved to work on lawnmowers, and bought and sold them from his backyard shop.  H.L. enjoyed watching Westerns with Clint Eastwood and loved his family.   

In addition to his parents, H.L. is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Carroll Jones, who passed in 2018; three sisters and a brother. 

Surviving are two sons, Teddy Jones and Tyler Jones, both of Thomasville; his daughter, Christy Morris and husband Ronnie of Trinity; five grandchildren, Brandon Rosser, Spencer Jones, Cory Jones, Dillon Johnson, Carlyn Lance; five great-grandchildren; one brother; three sisters; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
