Hershell "Johnny" Ward

Mr. Hershell “Johnny” Ward, 74, of Davidson County passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, October 27, 2023.  He was born on February 13, 1949 in Shelley, Idaho a son of the late Thomas James Ward and Nora McCulley Ward Wise.  Johnny served our country in the United States Air Force and worked much of his life as a truck driver, retiring from C Bean Transport.  He was a 32nd Degree Mason and past Grand Royal Patron of the Order of Amaranth.  Johnny was active in church as health permitted and a member of Enterprize Moravian.   He was a great father and grandfather and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife and mother of his daughter, Vicki Ann Edwards Wyatt; six brothers, Arden, Acel, Orien, Farron, Voyd, and Leon; and three sisters, Verma, Iris, and Clella.

Surviving to forever cherish his memory is his daughter, Elizabeth Ward Pierce and husband Scott of Clemmons; brothers, Dwen and Burdette Ward; granddaughters, Jameson Leighann Dale Pierce and Jennifer Gordon; and great-grandchildren, Zander Lee and Kaylee Marie.

Memorial services will be held at Enterprise Moravian Church on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at 3:30 PM with Rev. Arkon Stewart and Danny Garrett officiating.  The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2:30 PM.
