Howard Franklin Terry, Jr., 75, of Thomasville went home to be with the Lord Monday morning, March 31, 2025 at his residence.
Howard was born November 8, 1949 to the late Howard Franklin Terry, Sr. and Frances Floyd Surratt of Davidson County where his grandfather, Claude Porter Terry, helped raise him to be the man he was. He faithfully served his country as a pharmacy technician in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. As a young adult he worked for Thomasville Drug on Salem Street and later worked for Brenner Children’s Hospital and Baptist Hospital as a pharmacy technician. Howard loved Jesus, and because conversation came so easily, he would share the gospel with any would who would listen. He was a member of Rich Fork Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his step-father, Wayne Surratt; a father figure, Wayne Freeman.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Deborah Edwards Terry of the home; two daughters, Jana Wells and husband Richie of Charlotte, Lindsey Anderson and husband Rob of Glen Rock, PA; beloved grandchildren, Richardson Wells, Jennings Wells, Raleigh Wells, Rhodes Wells, Abigail Anderson, Lily Mae Anderson, Valerie Anderson, and “one on the way”; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rev. Doug Edwards and wife Colleen, Deanna Edwards, Dawn Leonard and husband Ron; a mother figure, Melvene Freeman; a sister, Sallie Surratt; numerous extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday April 9, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Rich Fork Baptist Church in Thomasville with Rev. Michael Bowers and Rev. Doug Edwards officiating. The family will greet friends from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM prior to the service at the church. Interment with military honors will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Billy Graham Evangelical Association and Tunnel to Towers Foundation online.
