September 28, 1938 ~ April 8, 2025 (age 86) 86 Years Old

Hoyle Grubb Obituary

Mr. Hoyle Issac Grubb, 86, a resident of Thomasville, went to meet his Lord and Savior Tuesday night, April 8, 2025, at High Point Regional Hospital.  Hoyle was born September 28, 1938 in Davidson County to the late Paul Grubb and Carrie Cooper Grubb.  He worked for the North Carolina DMV and retired with 34 years of loyal service.  In April 1991, Hoyle married Betty McMahan and they enjoyed almost 34 years of as husband and wife. Hoyle and Betty were faithful members at Thomasville Church of God.    He loved to fish and enjoyed family trips to the coast, especially Topsail.  Hoyle enjoyed thrifting, going to flea markets and driving around town in his red Chevy S-10 pickup.  He also enjoyed working in his yard and spending time with his family. 

In addition to his parents, Hoyle is preceded in death by his son, Alan Grubb; his sister, Jewel Grubb Hill; first wife of 29 years, Catherine Jayne Dailey Grubb; step-son, Keith Gardner; sister-in-law, Betty Grubb; brother-in-law, Don Hill. 

Left to cherish Hoyle’s memory is his loving wife, Betty Grubb of the home; two sons, Chris Grubb and wife Monica of Cary, Trent Grubb and wife Amy of High Point; a daughter, Lynda Moore of Thomasville; a step-daughter, Amy Nagy and husband Bill of Trinity; a brother, Jerry Grubb of Jamestown; four grandchildren, CarrieAnne Starnes, Peranda Caldwell, Ashley Armfield, Caitlyn Grubb; five great-grandchildren, Jackson, Andrew, Lincoln, Jack and Noah.  Hoyle was a devoted, husband, grandfather, brother and friend to many and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 11, 2025, at Thomasville Church of God 1200 West Holly Hill Road, Thomasville, NC, with Rev. Alan Greene officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will greet friends beginning at 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM, prior to the service, at the church.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Thomasville Church of God.   Online condolences may be sent to the family at  www.jcgreenandsons.com.
