Jack Junior Parsons, 93, of Thomasville passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Piedmont Crossing Retirement Community. Jack was born November 6, 1931 in San Fransico, California to the late Laurence Elton Parsons and June Mattson Parsons. Jack served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1949-1952; where he was part of the Chosin Few during his time in Korea. He worked many years in Computer Technology and was employed with IBM and later with Thomasville Furniture Industries. He was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church in Thomasville where he served on various committees throughout the years. Jack also served as the president of the Thomasville Lions Club. He loved to collect model trains. His greatest joy in life was the time spent and memories made with his beloved grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Hughey Parsons on January 16, 2022; one daughter, Debra Ann Parsons; and one brother, Larry Parsons.
Surviving is one son, Jack Randall Parsons (Kathy) of Winston-Salem; two daughters, Linda Strother (Randy) of Georgia, and Cindy Myers (Steve) of Thomasville; seven grandchildren, Allyson Smith (Chris), Colt Parsons, Josh Parsons (Kayla), Kimberly Strother, Becca Slusher (Taylor), Scott Myers (Sherri), and Jennifer White (Lance); six great-grandchildren, Savannah, Charlotte, Matthew, Charleston, Levi and Asher. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Charity DeJonge for the love and care she has exhibited to Jack.
A funeral service will be held Friday, March 14, 2025 at 2:00 PM at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Mur DeJonge officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM- 2:00 PM at the funeral home. A private burial for the family will be held at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292 or Piedmont Crossing, 100 Hedrick Drive, Thomasville, NC 27360.
