Jackie Cornelius McDowell, 61, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Jackie was born February 21, 1964 to the late Alvin Cornelius McDowell and Dorothy Pearl Johnston McDowell in High Point, NC. As a young man, he served his country in the United States Army stationed in Germany. He was a man of many artistic talents and he enjoyed careers in welding, self-taught tattoo artist, and a diesel mechanic. Jackie was a free spirit and enjoyed traveling in his camper, riding the highway, and quality time with family.
In addition to his parents, Jackie was preceded in death by a daughter, Shawna Elouise McDowell; a brother, Timothy McDowell.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his three children, Melissa McDowell and Cheryl McDowell both of Yadkinville, Aaron Willis (Ashley) of Wilmington; two sisters, Dotty Cottingham (Marc) of Thomasville; Sheila Stewart of Thomasville; nine grandchildren; extended family and many friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday, September 14, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the J.C. Green and Sons funeral home in Thomasville.
