Mr. Jackie “Jack” Alvin Hiatt, 87, of Thomasville, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Brookstone Terrace of Thomasville. He was born on September 6, 1938 in Davidson County, Thomasville, NC to Alvin Hiatt and Elizabeth Fleming Hiatt. He was a 1956 graduate of Hasty High School. He worked for 17 years with the Coca-Cola Bottling Company and later owned and operated The Gas Barn in High Point. He loved his Hot-Rod Cars, Car Shows, manicuring his lawn, and boating at his High Rock Lake Home that he shared with his wife for 37 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Judith Holdaway.
On February 20, 1971, he married Teresa Shoemaker, who survives of the home; also surviving is his sister, Debbie Burton and husband Don of High Point; brothers-in-law, Rick Shoemaker and Jeff Shoemaker and wife Renee; and nephews, Brad Burton and wife Melissa, Travis Shoemaker and wife Katie, and Eric Shoemaker and wife Madi.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, March 22, 2026 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville. No formal services will be held.
The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff of Brookstone Terrace of Thomasville and the staff of Hospice of the Piedmont for their loving care to Jack.
