Jacob "JD" Donald Hill

Mr. Jacob Donald “J.D.” Hill, 90, a resident of Thomasville, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2020 at Piedmont Crossing Retirement Center. He was born in Davidson County on November 18, 1929 to the late Ray M. Hill and Elizabeth Young Hill. He founded J D Hill Electric Inc. in 1964 and served the greater Thomasville area till the age of 80. He had a love and passion for his work and truly enjoyed going to work every day. JD and his wife loved to go camping and travelling to different parts of the country. He was a longtime member of Greenwood Baptist Church in Thomasville and also attended Colonial Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Odell Hill; two sisters, Grace Bass and Lena Mae Batten; daughter-in-law, Debbie Hill; and son-in-law, Scott Blair.

He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Ina Mae Pierce Hill of the home; one daughter, Pam Blair of Thomasville; one son, Donnie Hill (Louanne) of Thomasville; four grandchildren, Matthew Hill (Fran), Emily Beutke Hill (Cassandra), Jason Blair (Tiffany), and Ally Cash (Nate); six great-grandchildren, Connor, Hunter, Corben, Madelyn, Dexter, and Aiden; and one sister, Frances Woodard of Thomasville.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 10, 2020 at the JC Green and Sons Chapel in Thomasville at 11:00 AM with Rev. Steve Jarvis officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
