James Boyette Obituary

 Mr. James “Larry” Boyette, 72, a resident of Old Embler Rd, Thomasville passed away Monday, September 14, 2020 at New Hanover Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.  He was born January 23, 1948 in Columbus County, NC the son of the late Willie Austin Boyette and Edith Carroll Boyette. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Mr. Boyette was a truck driver most of his life, first driving for Hunter Farms and then Harris Teeter for 30+ years. He attended Narrow Path Baptist Church. He loved old cars and enjoyed spending time repairing them to sell. Mr. Boyette also enjoyed riding his tractor and motorcycle and loved going out to eat with his brother and sister-in-law. He also cherished spending time with his granddaughter and great grandchildren as often as he could. He was married to Mrs. Carol Anne Childress Boyette who preceded him in death January 9, 2015. In addition to his parents and wife, preceding him in death are two sisters, Diane Boyette and Peggy Foley.

Surviving are one daughter, Tracy Edwards of the home; one granddaughter, Christina Manring and husband Joshua of Thomasville; six great grandchildren, Cameron, Brandon, Luke, Jackson, Cashlynn, and Olivia; one brother, Phil Boyette and wife Carol of Salisbury.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, September 21, 2020 at 2:00 PM in J.C. Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville, NC with Rev. Joshua Manring officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 12:30 PM on Monday. The internment will follow the service at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 2101 Rexford Rd. Charlotte, NC 28211. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.jcgreenandsons.com .
