James Manning Obituary

Mr. James “Jim” Andrew Manning, age 81, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, September, 27, 2023. He was born in Davidson County on September 27, 1942 a son of the late Joel Monroe and Louise Sink Manning. Jim was a member of Pilgram Lutheran Church, and worked for Pilot Freight Company for many years, retiring from Billings Freight Systems. He loved to hunt and fish, and read about both sports. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Manning.

Jim is survived by his wife, Mae Reid Manning of the home; two daughters, Penny Everhart of Welcome, and Jamie Simpson of Murrells Inlet, S.C.; step-son, Barrett Falls of Emerald Isle, N.C.; three grandchildren, Joshua Everhart, Joseph Everhart, and Ralee Callahan; two step-grandchildren, Ashton and Cameron Falls; five great-grandchildren, Kaytlin, Colton, Loagyn, Joselyn, and Caleb; and one step-great-granddaughter, Lilly.

A Celebration of Life will be held and announced at later date.
