Mr. “James” Franklin Allen, 81, of Thomasville passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center. James was born November 15, 1943 in Horry County, South Carolina to the late Pearl Franklin Allen and Pencie Hodges Allen. He attended Johnsontown Methodist Church. He served his county in the United States National Guard. James was a truck driver for 37 years for George T. Woods and Sons, then drove an additional 20 years for Harris Teeter. He was an avid Carolina Panthers fan. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles, and antique cars. He was part of numerous car shows, where he received “Best in Show” trophies. He loved his beloved dogs, Lucky and Boots and farm animals. His greatest love was the time spent with his family.
On December 22, 1967 he married the love of his life, Dianne Hedrick Allen, who survives of the home; also surviving is his sister, Anna Lou Rabon of Thomasville.
A graveside service will be held Friday, November 14, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville with Glenn Rabon officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville on Friday from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM.
