James "Jim" Thompson Obituary
Mr. James “Jim” Oscar Thompson, 77, a resident of High Point, passed away at Hospice Home at High Point, early Wednesday morning, September 24, 2025. Jim was born February 22, 1948, in Huntingdon County, PA, to the late Joseph Richard Thompson and Marion Hazel Wonderley Trexler. Jim enjoyed visits from the pastors at Heath Church. He liked to paint, draw and build things. Jim had a wonderful sense of humor and liked to pick around with people to get a laugh. He would make bunny ears and tell people “I’ll throw firecrackers in your bedroom.” He had funny names for everyday food items – coffee was “batwing juice” and biscuits were “doorknobs.” Jim liked to help neighbors with their yard work, enjoyed riding his bike around Thomasville and interacting with his favorite folks at the Thomasville Police Department.
In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas “Tom” Allen Thompson and Joseph “Joe” Thompson.
Jim is survived by his two sisters, Marion Olson and “Julia” Esther Thompson; his brother, Daniel “Richard” Thompson; nephews, David Thompson and Kevin Thompson; a niece Julia and several other nieces and nephews.
