James “Strawberry” Franklin Bullins, 81, of Thomasville passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Thomasville Medical Center.
Strawberry was born April 5, 1943 to the late Frank Bullins and Nannie Lucille Hall Bullins in Stokes County. He worked for the City of Thomasville from 1979 to 2004 and was a member of Community Baptist Church in Trinity. Strawberry always enjoyed traveling, going to auctions, and simply just going for a drive. He was known and loved by many in the Thomasville community.
In addition to his parents, Strawberry was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Varner Bullins, March 26, 1995; three sisters, Cindy, Kathie, and Peggy; a granddaughter, Melody Marsh.
Surviving are his three children, Angel Marsh, Frankie Bullins, and Matthew Bullins all of Thomasville; a sister, Brenda Walker; four brothers, Buddy Bullins, Kenneth Bullins, Larry Bullins and wife Deronda, David Bullins and wife Lori; five grandchildren, Hollie Turner, Felecia Bullins, Brianna Waller, Layla Bullins, Haiden Bullins-Smiley; several great-grandchildren; extended family and many friends.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, April 14, 2024 at 3:00 PM in the J.C. Green and Sons Chapel with Pastor Ty Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Hughes Grove Baptist Church in Thomasville. The family will greet friends Saturday night from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
