Janet Lee McCurdy

Miss Janet McCurdy 70, a resident of High Point, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026, at her home. Janet was born on March 23, 1955, in Thomasville. She attended Thomasville City Schools. Janet was a very creative person. Her favorite thing to do was go shopping and decorate. 

Janet is survived by her daughter, Misha McCurdy, and  Special Daughter, Nikisha Mock; her siblings, Cora Gathings, Barbara Love ( Glenn ), Donald McCurdy, Gary McCurdy, Mitchell McCurdy, Sherry McCurdy, and Terry McCurdy; her grandchildren ,DaJahri McCurdy, Londyn Rivers, Ivy Gathings, Naim Bradsher, TeZhona Mock; Godchildren, Gabrielle Tuttle , Jaden Richardson, Jahzara McCurdy , Jah’net McCurdy; her special friend John Holmes; She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Helen Berry McCurdy and Rudolph McCurdy, Sr; and three siblings, Shirley McCurdy, Steven McCurdy and Rudolph Jr. McCurdy (Ernestine).

A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 17, 2026 at 1:30 PM at the JC Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville. The family will greet friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 12:30-1:30 PM. The McCurdy family would like to acknowledge the many acts of kindness extended to us during this difficult time of bereavement.
