Janet "Uggie" Diane (Overton) Kindley

Janet “Uggie” Diane Overton Kindley, 67, of Thomasville went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at Hinkle Hospice House.

Janet was born December 17, 1958 in Guilford County, daughter of the late Callie Hughes Summey. She faithfully attended Hughes Grove Baptist Church and in her early years helped in children’s Sunday school. Janet took great pride in always looking her best and enjoyed shopping trips to Hamrick’s. She was an exceptional homemaker, enjoyed working outside in her flowers, and took great pride in caring for her family.

In addition to her mother, Janet was preceded in death by her step-father, John Summey.

Surviving is her loving husband, sweetheart, and best friend of 47 years, William Lee “Dink” Kindley of the home; two daughters, Kelly Hansen (Jason) of Ohio, Kristy Branson (Mitch) of Asheboro; a granddaughter raised and loved as a daughter, Callie Grant (Philip); granddaughters, Karlie Cook and Hannah Brower (Brandon), a grandson, Troy Cook; great-grandbabies, Alydia Jane Grant and Philip “Landon” Grant; her sister, Kathy Bibus (Frank).

A funeral service will be held Friday, February 6, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Hughes Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Michael Grant and Bro. David Hicks officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hughes Grove Baptist Church.
