Mrs. Janice Viola Hill Moore, 82, of Thomasville, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025 at her home. She was born on May 4, 1943 in Davidson County, NC to Reverend Lewis Wood Hill and Bessie Hughes Hill. She was a homemaker and formerly worked at Thomasville Furniture Industries Plant-A. She was a member of Pilgrim Freewill Baptist Church in Lexington. She enjoyed cooking, making desserts, Jeff Gordon, reading her Bible, watching soap operas, and enjoyed riding around the lake in the boat.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Douglas Moore on June 14, 2018; son, Sanford Lee Manns; brother, Ronald Hill; two sisters, Martha Nealey and Pansy Perry; two grandsons, Roger Penley and Christopher Cabe; granddaughter, Deanna Hughes; great-great-granddaughter, Lilly Stevens; and great-grandson, Matthew Hughes.
Surviving are her three daughters, Teresa Rheuark, Pamela Culbertson and husband Franklin Culbertson, and Violet Hughes, all of Thomasville; her son, Lewis Manns and wife Angie of Thomasville; two brothers, Donald Hill and wife Gail and Otis Hill and wife Hazel, all of Lexington; sister, Diane Cabe and husband Billy of Thomasville; 9 grandchildren, Ashley Meadows and spouse Cori Meadows of Winston-Salem, Crystal Hughes and husband Thomas of Thomasville, Travis Culbertson and wife Amber of Thomasville, Jesse Cabe, Jr. and wife Donna of Thomasville, Kelly Hash of Lexington, Stephanie Knapp and husband Justin of Columbia, SC, Andrew Manns of Lexington, Whitney Drake and husband Brandon of Lexington, and Amber York of Lexington; and several great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Pilgrim Freewill Baptist Church, 1649 E. Center St. Ext. Lexington, NC with Rev. James Messer, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Pilgrim Freewill Baptist Church.
