Jean Elizabeth Bryant Bryan, 84, of High Point, went home to be with the Lord, on April 12, 2024 at Meridian Center. She was born in Union Point, GA on July 2, 1939 to the late Clarence Gordon Bryant and Derrie Lee Finch Bryant. Jean attended Old Jamestown High School, now Ragsdale High School. After graduating, she attended Bryan Business College and received a diploma as a Secretary in 1959. Jean also received a diploma in 1963 as a hair dresser from Artistic Beauty College. She worked as a nurse assistant for 25 years at various nursing homes and retired in 2001. Jean was raised in the First Church of Nazarene and attended Green Street Baptist Church later in her life. She loved to travel to the beach and enjoyed listening to shag and beach music. She also loved to watch NASCAR racing and her favorite drivers were Richard Petty and Dale Earnhart.
Jean is survived by her three sons, Tim Millis of Denton, Jeffrey Millis and family friend William Gurley of High Rock Lake, Robert Leroy Mixon of Thomasville; two daughters, Debra Lynn Millis Hedgecock and husband, Billy of Thomasville, Derrie “Beth” Wilkes and husband Wayne of Thomasville; ten grandchildren, Amber Millis, Shane Millis, Kevin Mixon, Alexi Millis, Stephanie Hedgecock, Billy Ray Hedgecock, Brandy Lynn Hedgecock, Tammy Netting, Bradley Shelton, Chris Fuller; several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Jean will be missed by everyone who knew her.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Floral Garden Park Cemetery 1730 West English Road, High Point, NC, with Rev. Bynum Orr, officiating.
