Jeanette Marilyn Garner Ball Obituary

Jeanette Marilyn Garner Ball, 71, of Lexington, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Hinkle Hospice House. Born on September 14, 1954, in Davidson County, Jeanette was the daughter of the late Reitzel Garner and Zona Bisher Garner. Jeanette loved the Lord and faithfully served as a devoted member of Walters Grove Baptist Church for many years. Her greatest joy was serving God and her church family through singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school, playing the piano, and organizing activities that helped strengthen and grow the church school. She possessed a true servant’s heart and touched countless lives through her kindness, faithfulness, and dedication. To many, she was affectionately known as “Mamaw Jeanette.” Alongside her late husband, Freddy Ray Ball, Jeanette owned and operated Back Creek Seafood in Asheboro for several years and later Hometown BBQ & Seafood in Troy. She cherished time spent with her family and found great joy in being a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, Jeanette was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Freddy Ray Ball, who passed away on December 9, 2021, and by two sisters, Dianne Nelson and Helen Yates.

Those left to cherish her memory include her three daughters: Tracey Ball Whitley and husband Brian of Denton, Cassie Ball Parrish and husband Thad of Lexington, and Chanté Ball Goins and husband Jamie of Lexington; three brothers, Reitzel Garner, Jr., Lonnie Garner, and Doug Garner; one sister, Cindy Hunt and husband Jackie; seven grandchildren, Tyler Whitley and wife Callie, Madelynne Hill and husband Garrett, Haley Parrish, Chasen Parrish and wife Camille, Samuel Goins, Silas Goins, and Talynn Hill; and five great-grandchildren, Jovie Whitley, Sawyer Whitley, Hudson Talley, Parker Talley, and Jack Talley, with three more great-grandchildren expected soon. She also leaves behind her special caregiver, Addison Whitley, as well as many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her greatly.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Walters Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Chris Simpson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.jcgreenandsons.com.
