Jerry "Steve" Motsinger Obituary

Mr. Jerry “Steve” Steven Motsinger, 74 of Winston-Salem, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, September 26, 2022, after an extended illness. Steve was born January 13, 1948, to the late William Leon and Lucille Marie Motsinger. He was a 1968 graduate of East Forsyth High School. On October 18, 1970, he married the former Mary Ann Mitchell. Steve was a proud Vietnam veteran who was especially proud to be a US Navy Seabee. He was stationed in Davisville, Rhode Island, and was involved in construction projects for Vietnam, Truk Island, and Diego Garcia. While in the Seabees, he met friends that would last a lifetime. Steve was a family man who loved his family vacations, hot rods, and racing. He was a terrific mechanic, and many people would come to rely on him for his skill and expertise for many years.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of over fifty-one years, Mary Ann Motsinger of the home; daughter, Meredith (John) Harris of High Point, NC; son, Wes (Katie) Motsinger of Wallburg, NC. He is also survived by the 3 greatest joys of his life (his grandsons), Logan Harris of High Point and Will and Charlie Motsinger of Wallburg.

A funeral service will be held at Wallburg Baptist Church (5341 Wallburg Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27107) on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 11:00am, with Pastor Brandon Wolfe officiating. A visitation will follow the funeral service in the church fellowship hall. A private burial will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory in Kernersville, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Steve’s name be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project or a charity of your choice.
