Jesse Franklin Stowe

Mr. Jesse Franklin Stowe, 86, of Thomasville went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Hinkle Hospice House. Jesse was born March 31, 1939, in Pittsylvania County, Virginia to the late Henry Stowe and Daisy Merricks Stowe. Jesse was a member of Rich Fork Baptist Church, and attended the Amazing Grace Sunday school class. He worked many years for Garden State Paper Company in New Jersey and also the local 300 Papermakers Union. After moving back to Thomasville, North Carolina, Jesse worked at Lowes Foods and later for the ABC Store. He truly enjoyed life, he loved hosting his family for cookouts, family meals and sharing his favorite recipes with others. He loved the fellowship and camaraderie. Jesse will be greatly missed. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Gladys Saunders, Ruby Mills, and Martha Mills; three brothers, Infant Vernie Stowe, Isaac “Ike” Stowe and Ben Stowe.

He was first married to Carole Stenger, who preceded him in death in August 1990.

On December 29, 2001, he married Priscilla Smith Stowe, who survives of the home; also surviving are two sons, Kevin Stowe of Basking Ridge, New Jersey and Glenn Stowe of Little Falls, New Jersey; two daughters, Judi Jackson and Julie Smith, both of Thomasville; two sisters, Teresa Sechriest and Patricia Carroll, both of Thomasville; six grandchildren, Michael Beeson, Rodney Beeson, Justin Stowe, Sarah Stowe, Abby Stowe, and Kevin Stowe, Jr.; three great-grandchildren; three-great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Friday, January 30, 2026, at 7:00 PM at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Bowers and Dr. Jim Summey officiating.  The family will greet friends Friday evening beginning at 6:00 pm and also following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be sent to Hospice of Davidson County at 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292 or Rich Fork Church at 3993 Old US Hwy 29, Thomasville, NC 27360.
